Autumn and Early Winter

Winter has just begun and many of us have had a busy and productive Autumn.

Carol H. worked on this beautiful cowl,

and a warm and colorful pair of socks.

Anne has continued with her needle turned appliqué squares.

Barbara did this redwork embroidery,

and finished piecing her village quilt,
with shops representing local stores in our town.
We're encouraging her to exhibit it locally when it's completed!

Pat K, who now lives in South Carolina, won her first
ribbon there with this beautiful Mrs. Lincoln quilt.

Jane knitted this lovely, soft baby sweater.

Susie shared this wonderful sailboat quilt she made...

and she's been working on these hand stitched and appliquéd
squares for a quilt,

as well as some tiny one inch hexagons,
arranged with a fabric motif hexi in the center.

Judy made some fabric landscapes for a show,

and a little appliquéd lady in the snow.

Daphne shared some pretty quilted mats.

And our newest member, Carol S., is working on an
embroidered tree skirt begun years ago by her mother.

Here's Barbara again, with a sweet hand appliquéd wool piece,

as well as a hand embroidered table runner!

Last but not least, Pat R graciously posed wearing
a beautiful cowl she knitted,

and shared two more adorable sweaters
for her hand knit bunnies!

As always, we all feel so fortunate to belong to this group
and enjoy seeing what everyone is working on.

So glad we can share our work with you!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Summer Stitching

I'm just squeaking in under the wire, getting a summer post in before the start of autumn tomorrow. How quickly the seasons go, but always, there is stitching, knitting, appliqué and quilting to keep us busy, and our friendships that keep us together as a group. We love our Thursday mornings!

The cottage garden has been a joy to see every time we venture down the walkway. This photo was taken midsummer and flowers continued to grow taller and fill out the space, along with vegetables!

Here are just a few of the things we've been working on recently.

Susie has been busy, as always.
Here is her seaside themed quilt,

some lovely pieced quilts,

and an intricately appliquéd and pieced quilt.

Susie also made some cute needle books to give as gifts.
Here they are, front...

and back!

And on her design wall, a neutral log cabin quilt is in process.

Carol made this sweet baby blanket,

an adorable I-Spy quilt,

and this lovely knitted shawl.

Pat R. said that this is what happens when you let your grandson
choose the pattern for his bunny's new sweater!

And he loves it!

Pat also made this precious teddy for a lucky little girl.

Here is Jane's wonderful boy's sweater with very special buttons!

Ann's embroidered quilt has been beautifully quilted,

and she is currently working on hand appliquéd
squares for a new quilt.

Barbara, who has had a very busy summer,
added French knots to some vintage hand embroidered quilt squares.

Judy embroidered a little lady she had doodled,

tried some torn paper collages with embroidery,

and worked on an embroidered page for her fabric book.

So now, grandchildren are back to school, summer vacations are over,
and the table is filling up again with new projects every week.

Here's wishing everyone who reads this
a very happy Autumn!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Springtime at the Cottage

We've had a rainy spring in New England,
but when we gather at the cottage everything is cosy.

There is never a lack of new projects, laughter and conversation at the table.

Here are some of our most recent creations.

Anne has made some adorable hats,

done some wool appliqué

and some hand turned appliqué,

as well as some hand embroidery on a quilt.

Daphne completed this lovely pastel quilt,

and another one with woodland creatures.

Susie's design wall always has some interesting projects going on,

And she always has new quilts to share.

In this one, each square is hand appliquéd.

Two pieced quilts,

and Susie's latest, with a seaside theme.

Pat has been working on a beautiful blanket.

And Jane created this hat,

as well as these beautiful girls' sweaters.

Peggy made this lovely baby blanket

and a child's quilt.

Carol brought in a slightly oversized ball of yarn,

and completed two quilts.

Barbara shared more of her appliquéd shops,
which will be part of a quilt.

Judy created this felt and wool centerpiece, part of a larger picture

as well as this woman with lace hair appliqué.

Flowers now greet us as we come up the path to the cottage,

we are having some sunny days
and it seems that spring is finally here,
as often happens in New England,
just in time for summer!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.
Hope to see you again soon!
