Constantly Creative

"…Methinks it is a token of healthy and gentle characteristics,
when women of high thoughts and accomplishments love to sew,
especially as they are never more at home with their own hearts
than while so occupied."
                                                                         ---Hawthorne's Marble Faun

We certainly do love to sew - and knit, embroider, quilt and chat - and our group has met every week throughout the summer and into autumn, with only a brief pause for vacation.
Here are some of the pieces we have worked on and shared…

Susie has been doing a great deal of needle turned appliqué,
as well as sharing some of her many beautiful quilts.

Carol's knitting needles are constantly in motion, as she knits shawls,
socks and scarves...

and she shared a quit top she had made,
which glowed with the sun shining through it!

Judy worked on her embroidered birds...

and shared some fused fabric landscapes which she made into cards.

Pat R. continued to do hand quilting...

and started knitting a baby hat with ear coverings for the winter ahead.

Ann cut out and hand appliquéd wool flowers, leaves and stems...

made an adorable little hat...

and began hand embroidering flowers on a quilt top.

Susan worked on a Christmas redwork embroidery...

and shared a quilted wall hanging she had made for her grand daughter.

Peggy showed us a quilted autumn table runner she made,

and Pat K. made a little purse,

and a pillow top for her daughter.

And we were excited to learn that she had won two awards for
this beautiful quilt which we had watched her work on for months!
Congratulations, Pat!!

Barbara continues to work on squares for her quilted village -
this one is in process.

And Daphne made this handbag as a custom order
for a very satisfied customer.

Finally, Dottie showed us her completed wool appliqué quilt which had been quilted
and bound - a wonderful accomplishment!

As the weather turns colder, it is always good to gather together, work
on our projects and enjoy each other's company
around the creative table!
